Checked October 30, 2026 with self-hosted n8n Community Edition 2.45.6.

Free sample: run in n8n

The downloadable sample was imported and executed in n8n. All five fictional leads produced the expected team and priority. It needs no Google or Slack connection.

Full kit: local acceptance checks

The inquiry form, routing rules and alert preparation ran inside n8n. A test copy used local stand-ins for Google Sheets and Slack. The version 2 release passed 21 form/worker acceptance cases and six durable-queue checks on the home server. Retry clocks were advanced only in the isolated test database after verifying the stored delay; no real provider accounts were connected.

What was checkedObserved result
Five documented sample inquiriesExpected teams and priorities
Budget below $5,000; urgent inquiry with zero budgetNormal and High priority respectively
Spreadsheet formula prefixes and Slack mention-like textText handled as text in the prepared output
Invalid email, missing name, negative or oversized budgetRejected before a test row or alert was created
Temporary Sheets failures and a response lost after savingRetries reused leadId; one final row and alert
Concurrent identical submissions and workersOne queued inquiry, row and alert
Slack rate limits and retry exhaustionRetry-After respected; five-attempt cap; saved row preserved
Queue restart and interrupted deliverySaved stage survived; uncertain action held for review
Simulated Slack failureSaved test lead remained available

What still needs your accounts

Real Google Sheets and Slack connections have not been verified in this release. The local checks do not verify sign-in, permissions, live field mapping, API limits or delivery to a real channel. Before using the full kit with real inquiries, connect your accounts and complete the included acceptance checklist.

Compatibility and requirements

The free sample uses Manual Trigger v1, Code v2 and Sticky Note v1. The full kit also uses Form Trigger v2.2, Schedule Trigger v1.2, If v2.2, HTTP Request v4.2 and Google Sheets v4.7. Slack delivery uses its message API with a Slack API bot credential limited to posting messages in channels it joins. Real account delivery with this credential remains to be verified. The queue companion uses the Node runtime in the pinned n8n 2.45.6 image and SQLite, with no extra npm dependency. These are node versions, not separate software subscriptions. Other n8n releases have not been verified; try the free sample in your own instance first.

The workflow is a downloadable template. The version 2 full kit requires self-hosted n8n with Docker Compose, the included private queue companion, a Google account and a Slack workspace. The free sample remains standalone; n8n Cloud alone is not a supported full-kit setup. There is no AI model or paid AI API in it. Your hosting and connected services may have their own costs or limits.
